Today is another scorcher! Also in the 90s. Kevin spent the morning watering my flowers, grass, and getting wet.
His art class at our local art gallery began this afternoon. He wore a shirt he made at his art class at home earlier this summer. And I brought some jeans from home with ripped knees in his suitcase so that we could cut them off for art shorts.
He wasn't sure how his jeans could become shorts, but he was fine with it once he tried them on! He informed me that he wants to learn to sew. Any ideas for a beginning project for a boy??
His class is receiving preliminary instructions for the clay project they will do.
This is the first creation step of his clay project! Unfortunately, the picture is not great and does not show the intricate detail etched into the clay.
Can't wait to see the final result!!!
He was VERY interested in the museum. We spent about an hour going through all the galleries examining many of the items closely. Other adults commented on how interested he is in art. And some asked him if he had painted his shirt! :)
Besides videos from the library and church, we read some books, and made sure he is prepared for his piano lesson tomorrow. He surprised me by showing me he has memorized the one song he was assigned!!! But we are having trouble memorizing the musical alphabet backwards from G to A.
Oooo! Sew potential! Nina, go to the Wal Mart (or Michaels) craft isle, ... they have a bunch of fully-prepared simple sewing projects for Kevin to start with. OR he could try latch hooking! (More boy stuff available with that!) : )
