Water and Harp

Today was the last day of VBS. Kevin is at the front looking back at me.

The program is either half day (mornings) or full day. I didn't think Kevin would want to be in the full day program, but he informed me -- the next time he comes, he wants to be in the full day camp.

He told me about their Bible story on the way home -- about Jesus going up into the air, through the clouds, to heaven. Then Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the world. I asked if they talked about seeing tongues of flame on their heads. He was unaware of that.

He brought home a very nice craft: a glass jar filled with layered colored sand or salt. He said he used salt and tasted some which gave him a stomach ache. They told him to drink a lot of water.

We decided it would be fun to go to McDonald's for lunch. Eating his french fries and nuggets.

A light sabre came in his Clone Wars Happy Meal.

We had to wait for a service man from 1-4; then they called to say he wasn't coming today. After the call, we had 40 min. before the end of open swimming, so we hurried to the pool.

On the way home, we passed a public park where I have been told they have a wading pool and splash park, so we checked it out. A wedding was about to take place in the pavillion and we heard a harp and flute, so we went over to see if we could find them.

The harp was identical to Mommy's -- a Lyon and Healy Style 85!!!
The water area was lots of fun.

This was an active play area where the kids could play with water in a series of trays, valves that turn on and off, water wheel, and more.

In fact, Grandma had a hard time convincing him it was time to go home. At home, he continued his active play until dinner. Grampa said he is going to lift the training wheels a notch (though we aren't telling Kevin...).
