We took Guinny to doggie park this morning. No friends for him, but some boys were having baseball practice. Kevin enjoyed watching them! The coach told the boys they had a "super fan" watching them! (in red shirt and the far end)
There was a little toy poodle/something mix which Kevin loved hugging!
After lunch, we had a list of errands to run. First stop was at the sports shop where we bought his skating helmet. It is too tight, so we needed to have it resized. He saw a T-ball stand as we left, so he bought that with his $20 from our neighbor who gave him money his first week here. Next was Walmart where we bought Kevin a new swim suit as he is complaining his current trunks are getting tight around the waist. We also found a couple of sale shirts. Then it was time for a haircut.
The hair stylist told me Kevin was intrigued by "Tangled," so we rented it from Blockbuster on our way home.
Finally, we were ready to head for the fabulous pool we went to yesterday. As stated before, anyone 7 and under has to be tested by a lifeguard to know what level of ability each swimmer is. Kevin has always passed as the highest level with permission to be in the deep water alone, use the water slide and diving boards, etc. The lifeguard who tested him today said he touched bottom several times. I never saw it! Kevin insists he did not. It was ridiculous! He said he could not use the waterslide, but he could go off the diving board as long as I was an arm's length away. I said, "I don't swim well enough to be there;"(overstatement to make a point!) "He is a MUCH better swimmer than I." I asked for a second test in deep water so he could see what a good swimmer Kevin is. They refuse to do a second testing. After appealing to the chief lifeguard, I asked for our money back, because there was no point in staying there where I had to be an arm's length from him even in the splash park! Ridiculous! They gave me 2 free entrance coupons, and we went to another outdoor city pool for free. He passed his test, and had a great afternoon swimming while I napped! ha!
After dinner, we set up the T-ball stand, and he practiced hitting. Then we played catch for a while until we saw Mr. Whitehead watering the flowers among the boulders. Kevin ran off to be in his spray.
Apparently, we had a colorful sunset which we missed until seeing it in the reflected water!
